Please do not exacerbate this by calling on a day before you’re eligible; they won’t make an exception and let you cut the line. With only a 5-minute posted wait, 8am openings at Magic Kingdom continue to be a blessing, when scheduled. We might end up doing a “trip report”-style article soon showcasing just how much can be accomplished before the masses descend on Magic Kingdom, but let’s refocus on the point of this article – the Jungle Cruise dock refurbishment. Now in its third month, the Jungle Cruise dock refurbishment is past the halfway point as work moves to a new portion of the queue. The project includes removing wood paneling from the dock and replacing it with what appears to be a composite material. While visiting Magic Kingdom, we stopped by Jungle Cruise before the lines got too long to get an updated look at the work and progress.

From Miami, the Disney Dream will embark on an assortment of four- and five-night cruises to locales including Grand Cayman, Nassau, Castaway Cay and Cozumel, Mexico. DISNEY DREAM 2023 SAILINGS
While Fall 2023 dates were announced today, general booking will not open until Thursday July 28th. The tiered booking period will begin Monday July 25th for Castaway Club Members and some others. Ultimately, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Disney Cruise Line, just like all other aspects of travel. With that 50% future cruise credit, we’ll likely hedge our bets and book as soon as we’re eligible on May 2 (assuming we can settle on an itinerary between now and then).
Summer 2023 Disney Cruise Line Itineraries
The Disney Dream will sail from her South Florida home with new sailings from January 2, 2023 to April 10, 2023. The Disney Dream does not have any sailings available beginning April 15, 2023. Although the dates were announced today, general booking will not open until Thursday, October 24th.
Disney Wonder 5 Night Baja Mexico Cruise
Continual updates – including a 21-night dry dock refurbishment in May 2023 – have kept the ship up-to-date, and both kids and adults who are young at heart will find plenty of pixie dust scattered throughout their cruise. The only sailings released for the Disney Magic are from January 1, 2023 to March 27, 2023. The first thing that you will probably notice about this is that there is a really big gap here! Packages and tickets are already available for Disney World in 2023, and many Disney Cruise Line sailings are ready to book right now!
The Disney parks are known for their service, and this attention to the passenger experience carries onto Disney’s cruise ship Magic. Staff beam at you as you walk through the halls, and game medals are given with gusto. Servers in the restaurant steer you away from problematic dishes and the entertainment staff get people moving in the disco. And, unless your heart is made of stone, you'll melt at the characters, all pros at child-wrangling, who embrace the outgoing and coax the timid into pictures of a lifetime. The Disney Fantasy will follow her usual pattern of Eastern and Western Caribbean 7 night sailings from Port Canaveral Florida.
The Disney Magic does not have any sailings available beginning April 1, 2023. For those looking for Fall 2023 dates, we anticipate the next release to occur sometime in the spring just before the summer season gets underway based on the historical itinerary release cycle. I know we definitely will be booking one of these, as we have a 50% off future cruise credit from one of our Disney Wish itineraries that was cancelled. Which cruise we choose is subject to, ahem, internal debate, but we’re both in agreement that “going big” makes sense given the size of the savings.
Starting May 27, the Disney Magic will sail four-night Bahamas cruises and five-night western Caribbean voyages, followed by two seven-night sailings in July to the eastern and western Caribbean. Select summer voyages aboard the Disney Magic will include double days – for double the fun – at Castaway Cay. Also from Port Canaveral, the Disney Fantasy will begin the year with seven-night sailings to several favorite destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Disney Cruise Line announced itineraries through Summer 2023 for the Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy legacy ships, plus the brand-new Disney Wish!
With the sailings out of Florida–especially Port Canaveral–the odds of prices dropping are stacked against you. Normally, there’s a high probability that opening day prices are the cheapest that those sailings will ever be. Of course, this is assuming pent-up demand and the global economy remain strong heading into 2023, and that’s hardly a sure thing at this point. With that said, it’s worth noting that opening day stateroom rates are largely on the lower end of the historical pricing spectrum. As itineraries start to book up and stateroom inventory becomes more scarce, rates invariably increase.
The clothing requirements are actually the same for both formal and semiformal nights; the biggest difference is on formal night when the characters also dress up for photos. Disney Magic deck plans are designed in a way that you never have to go far for food, drinks or entertainment. Cabins are spread over six of the 11 passenger decks, and you can find restaurants, bars and lounges on four others, including a number of them around the triple-deck Disney Magic atrium. The Disney Magic will sail her first season from New Orleans (replacing the Wonder).
The Disney Wish will feature exciting new additions including Disney’s first “Frozen”-themed theatrical dining experience and AquaMouse, a wild water adventure and first-ever Disney attraction at sea. If you’re hoping to set sail next fall, we encourage you to book with our travel agent partner, Small World Vacations. They’ll help you plan an amazing vacation, whether it’s your first sailing or your 50th. Sailings from San Diego will range in length from three to seven nights. Some sailings to the Baja peninsula will call on the charming coastal city of Ensenada, known for its turquoise blue water and rugged mountainous terrain. Many departures will include a visit to Cabo San Lucas, a favorite destination with dramatic rock formations and white sand beaches.
